I believe that…
Therapy can be a valuable part of your holistic plan for overall health and wellness. It’s critical to connect with others and carve out time to attend to your needs. Therapy can support you to develop self-awareness and expand your capacity for fulfilling relationships and experiences.
My approach is…
…collaborative, humanizing, and relational. Your past relationships have helped form your behaviors and experiences, including how you currently interact with others. Together, we’ll explore your relationships to identify themes and ways you can create dynamic shifts. My style isn’t passive; I ask a lot of questions and offer theories for you to consider, inviting disagreement and clarification. We’re in this work together, and I’m invested in providing you with an impactful therapeutic experience.
Specialty areas
One of my passions is working with women struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety, and the myriad challenges associated with raising children. The experience is not always what people anticipate – instead of joy, there is worry, insecurity, and overwhelm. By providing perinatal and parenting-specific information and research-based techniques, I help normalize these common experiences and improve the family’s sense of wellness. Clients sometimes prefer individual sessions while others bring in their partners. You can decide what arrangement is best for you and your family. We can focus on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum experience, and anything else that will support you as you transition to this new phase of life. I hope to provide you with relief from suffering, harmony in your co-parenting relationships, and joyful attunement with your children.
I also love working with young adults who are exploring their identities and independence. Common themes include trauma, anxiety, and exploring past relationships and how they influence current experiences. We will sort through experiences and emotions as you develop a stronger sense of self grounded in a foundation of values and aspirations. Our work together supports you to lean into life’s challenges and craft an intentional path forward.
My credentials
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience working with children, teens, and adults. As a certified perinatal mental health practitioner, I’m passionate about improving healthcare within a system that often undervalues the experiences of women and people of color. My experience includes work in nonprofit leadership, school settings, and community clinics. In addition to therapy, I also have experience with psychological assessment and clinical supervision.
I am a member of Postpartum Support International, the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association, and the Monterey Bay Psychological Association, where I serve as Board President.
